Sapphire ... so good!

Off Venice Beach, Los Angeles

Hi there! We love your country and we loved the American people we met on the Sapphire Princess cruise from Sydney, round New Zealand to Auckland. Even the man from Chicago who thought some of the passengers were “slightly unsavoury” was cynically amusing.

By the way, it seems that the ubiquitous Sammi Baker has had a big career move up the company ladder.

I am sure some of you must have met the notorious Mr and Mrs Serial-Whinger from Yorkshire, England, during that cruise. Remember what they found in their bathroom?

You can meet up with them again in my new novel “Dancing with the Captain”, just published by Austin and Macauley. In fact, you can get a brief glimpse of them here.

You can also catch up with Billy, the ship’s drunk, and the gorgeous dancing girls, of course. There is the amorous eponymous Captain James Norton as well.

Alan Hale, the tabloid reporter hero, packs and amazing amount into his 15 days on board. Mystery, crime, romance and above all humour … and all set among some of the world’s spectacular scenery.

Are all cruises like this? It is available from amazon.com … and at $16.99 is the cheapest cruise you will ever find and the most amazing.

I told you I would get round to writing a book eventually.

Sydney Harbour Bridge, of course

Hi there! We love your country and we loved the Australian people we met on the Sapphire Princess cruise from Sydney, round New Zealand to Auckland. Your friendliness to the Poms made the cruise something special. But then that's the way we have always found it on the mainland, too.

And the Poms on a disastrous Australian cricket tour.

Do you remember Billy on duty by the Tradewinds Bar on the Sapphire Princess?
